Currently Loving…

Hi everyone! After 3 (maybe 4?) years of having this little piece of the internet, I think it’s time to revamp the look and feel of my blog.  SO if it looks a little under construction, that’s why (I’m not very good with technology. Holla at your girl if you are).

Since it’s April and everyone’s spring cleaning, why not replace the old with the new? Here’s some of the random things i’ve been absolutely loving lately!


Let’s start with the fun stuff, shall we? Makeup is something I buy way too much of, so while I was cleaning out all my old stuff I regret buying, I decided to treat myself to some new things as well.  Here are my absolute favorites as of late..


DiorSkin Nude Foundation:
not to be confused with the Nude Air which is a different foundation, and i’ve never tried it so I can’t recommend.

Why I love it: This foundation actually looks like SKIN! And I don’t hate it! Usually I love full coverage, matte-AF foundations, but this one looks like if you were having a fantastic skin day.  There’s also skin care included in the foundation, which is pretty cool.


DiorShow Lash-Extension Effect Volume Mascara:

Why I love it: This mascara claims to give you the appearance of wearing fake lashes without the hassle of getting lash glue all over your desk, chair, and outfit (just me? ok). I figured it would be like any other mascara that claims to do the same, but THIS ONE DELIVERS. This is the only mascara I will ever wear without eyeliner which is saying a lot. Also, it doesn’t smudge all over the place.


Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base:
Thank you, Chanel Gods.

Why I love it: This stuff is different from any other bronzer i’ve tried.  It’s a little shimmery, so if you’re not a fan of looking like a disco ball in the sun you might not love it.  I put it on with a beauty blender (read: sponge) or with a foundation brush.  Put it on the places you would normally contour and you’re ready to go! I love this over foundation and under powder or on it’s own in the summer.



Why I love it: This book is super easy to read even when you have no time at all.  It’s easy to pick up at any time, even if the last time you read it was a week ago. I love reading a chapter before bed and then doing the journaling exercises at the end of it. Very practical and real advice.  Although i’m not done with it, one of the major takeaways i’ve had from this book already is about our thoughts.

Our thoughts are nothing more than cultural norms and societal standards and other people’s opinions, however, we begin to trick ourselves into thinking our thoughts are who we are.  Think about how TRUE that is! “We adopt society’s standards and expectations, believing what the world says is right, and beating ourselves up when we do not live up to them. This means that if you are a woman above size 6 or 8, you consider yourself fat; or if you are above a certain age and single, you think you’re a loser; or if you don’t want kids, there is something wrong with you; or that if you want to take time off from work or school to travel, you are avoiding responsibility.”


Marissa Lace & Caitlin Bea:
Two young-twenty-somethings who make YouTube videos.

Why I love them: If you’re friends with me in real life you know I have a secret love for watching “YouTubers” (probably stems from my addiction to reality tv… but whatever). These girls are both awesome because they make a lot of healthy living/lifestyle/wellness videos as well as fashion and beauty things.  I love how Marissa is inspiring her viewers to meditate, read, journal… it’s just awesome to see how much she’s changed since adopting spirituality into her life and I LOVE IT.

FoodMatters TV:
Netflix for Health & Wellness junkies.

Why I love it: I’m obsessed with this idea.  This makes me want to sit in front of my tv for hours and just watch documentaries. I love that every wellness lifestyle documentary out is at your fingertips with one app. SO cool. 🙂

Heather Waxman’s “Meditation for Self-Confidence”

Why I love it: It’s short and sweet which means it’s practical and I actually will do it. I’ve been doing this one every couple of days and I love it. It feels different each time but always feels refreshing and gives me the warm fuzzies. Yes, yes, yaaaaaaas Heather!



Chelsea Korus, yoga instructor.

Why I love her: She brings an element of dance in her yoga flows that is so unique and refreshing.  Instead of the sometimes stagnant feeling poses, she brings fluidity and movement into each practice. I think her energy is amazing during classes too 🙂 Overall just really loving her and her yoga classes on YogaGlo lately!



Peach Green Tea

Why I love it: Reminds me of summer and gets rid of that sometimes icky taste of grass green tea sometimes has. Yum yum yummmmmmm!

  1. Wow! All such awesome suggestions. I can’t wait to try out the meditation for self confidence! Also, Better Than Before is another great book for working on habit formations. 🙂
