Pumpkin Pie Smoothie & The Best Advice Ever

Good morning, sunshine!  I’m sure we’ve all been experiencing a little bit of “Fall Syndrome” – sudden cravings for warm lattes, new cozy sweaters, and most of all – PUMPKIN.  I know i’m not the only one who has to fight the urge to put pumpkin in everything.  Luckily for me (and you!), this pumpkin obsession led me to a BOMB recipe for a Green Pumpkin Pie Smoothie.

qeNz2X1380382489Don’t be fooled by the Christmas color – this smoothie is packed with Fall taste!  This is an awesome way to spice up (literally) my morning smoothies.

Green Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
1 cup non-dairy milk
*1/2-3/4 cup Pumpkin (read: not pumpkin pie mix)
*1/2 banana
*1/2 tsp pure maple syrup
*1 scoop vanilla protein
*Spices to taste: Cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, all spice (I used 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 ginger, and a pinch of the rest)
*Big handful of spinach (or other mild green)
*Handful of ice

Place in blender & Enjoy!

Why Pumpkin?

1) A cup of this delicious orange pumpkin provides 200% of your daily Vitamin A! This means extra sharp eyesight.  Added bonus for the winter months: Vitamin A can actually help keep your eyes moisturized so dry eyes don’t become a problem.

2) Beta-Carotene!  One of the most amazing nutrients to get in your diet if you want beautiful, radiant, glowing skin.  Beta-carotene literally makes you glow, so don’t skimp 🙂

3) Wrinkle-free, Cancer free.  The same carotenoids in pumpkin that help ward off cancer can also keep you from premature aging.  Think of this as love to your body after a summer full of sun.

While you’re enjoying your morning smoothie, let’s have a little chat.

How often do we sit and wonder and stress over what the “right choice” is?  Whether we’re deciding what to have for lunch or whether to end a relationship, there’s a piece of advice I learned from Heather Waxman that saves me every time.

“Whatever makes your heart expand is the right choice.”

The next time you have a choice you’re trying to make, take a second, close your eyes, and feel.  Often when there’s a tightness or uneasiness in our chest, we’re making a choice that goes against our values and beliefs.  When the choice makes you feel open, light, or radiant… go with that choice.  It doesn’t always mean the choice will be easy, but at least you will know it is the right one.

Decision making made spiritual 😉

Have a beautiful Saturday!
Lots of love and warm hugs to you,
