Fall is here! You know what that means: moving back to school, deadlines, exams, papers, social events, more friend-time, parties, the list goes on and on. Unfortunately, that usually means our “me-time” or any down-time we previously had is long gone and out of mind.
I noticed i’ve been feeling a little “off” recently, and I realized I haven’t been making myself a priority lately. So what am I doing? Creating a fun “challenge” for myself & I hope you will join! I promise it’ll make life more bright, loving, and beautiful. (As all blissful challenges should!)
The Blissful Challenge: 60 Minutes To Transform Your Life!
For the next 30 days, no matter weekend or weekday, I promise myself that I will spend 60 minutes (at least) doing something purely for myself. For me, this means taking my time to read inspiring books, take a hot shower, meditate, do yoga, or pray. This 60 minutes is my time for lighting candles, snuggling up with a good book, and making a cup of warm lemon water. Whatever it is, make sure it is something that makes you feel at home in your body and mind, something that lights up your heart and fuels you with passion.
You walk through this life day in and day out with this mind, this body, this soul. Why not be your own best friend? Personally, I love my alone time because I am my own best friend. When that happens, it’s a beautiful thing. It takes time and a lot of effort, but the results are nothing short of miraculous.
For only 30 days, make yourself a priority. What you choose to do is endless, but there’s a few rules: No TV, no cell phones, and no internet! Turn it off for now. It’ll all be waiting for you in 60 minutes. Think of this as a daily detox.
If you want to do 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night, go for it! If you like your morning “me-time” or night time is more your thing, it’s all up to you. You know yourself best! Now’s the time to get to know the person you spend all your time with.
