There are a million and one tips to get beautiful, glowing skin. Most of these methods come from a place of treating the external (your face) and ignoring what goes on inside (your body). I’m here to give you five unconventional tips I use to get glowing, soft skin.
1. Add coconut oil to your diet.
Coconut Oil can be used topically or can be ingested. For glowing skin from the inside out, I highly recommend eating a tablespoon of organic, extra virgin coconut oil each day. Why? The amazing fat in coconut oil improves skin’s moisture and lipid content, making your face look glow-y and radiant. Not to mention, coconut has a million other benefits. 2. Breathe Deep (Meditate!)
While meditating, we supply oxygen to our cells in the most efficient way. Not only this, but it’s true that when you glow on the inside, you radiate on the outside. Spend some time connecting to yourself each and every day (even if it’s only 5 minutes), and your face (and life) will thank you.
3. Get Your Green On.
I know, I know. This is a tough one. Trust me, I know how hard it is to change your diet and make changes that last. My one simple tip is this: Have a green smoothie or green juice every day. If you can’t do it every day, try every other day. The point is consistency: make it a habit! I often put the coconut oil I mentioned earlier in my morning green smoothie, and then i’m good for the day. Remember to pack up your smoothie with loads of greens, antioxidant rich fruits, and essential fats. Your face will be glowin’ in no time! I can attest to that.
If you ever want to have truly radiant skin, this is a crucial step you can’t miss. Sleep is often the first thing people throw out the window when they’re crunched for time, but sleep is SO unbelievably essential to all functioning of the body. You might think you can function without sleep, but that’s simply because you’re not used to how you’re supposed to feel. Get 7-9 hours of sleep per night, and if you miss an hour or so, napping is fine. I’ve personally noticed a huge change in my skin since i’ve adopted a way earlier bedtime (10-11pm) and ditched the late night studies and hang outs. It’s hard, but you’ll feel a world of difference.
5. Go Organic!
I have tried (literally) hundreds of creams, lotions, toners, cleansers, exfoliators – you name it, i’ve probably tried it. However, nothing made my face more baby-soft than when I switched to all organic brands. They’re a bit more pricey, but in my opinion, it’s totally worth it. I buy almost entirely organic groceries so that my body doesn’t get any pesticides or unwanted chemicals, and I started to do the same with my skincare routine. Right now I am using (and LOVING!) Pangea Organics products. I really recommend the Discovery Kit if you’re just starting out and want to see the difference organic products make.
These are just some of my favorite tips, but I have many more things I do to keep the blood flowing to my skin and to keep my face looking fresh, radiant, and smooth. If you’d like to hear more, email me!
See you there! Best of luck, beauties!
