My favorite season is fall. Always has, always will. It’s finally the perfect temperature for cute boots, jeans, and sweaters (read: an excuse to shop),football season, cider mills (donuts! caramel apples!), and seriously beautiful nature walks. What other time of the year can you watch the trees light up with red, yellows, and orange? It takes my breath away.
There’s another thing that happens when fall is here, and that is a craving for comforting spices and, of course, pumpkin. Don’t worry, i’ll be sharing a million pumpkin recipes with you in the days to come (peanut butter pumpkin balls from my girl Carly and pumpkin bread, just to name a few!) For today, I made a sort of “transition smoothie” to get your taste buds in the mood for the tastes of fall.
Warm & Cool Fall Smoothie
Why warm and cool? It’s a transition smoothie! There’s some summer flavors, as well as rich fall flavors. It tastes beyond amazing ~ could even be a dessert.
*Bolthouse mocha cappuccino flavor (could sub with soy milk/almond milk/protein powder)
*1/2 cup oats
*1 tbsp coconut oil
*handful of ice
*blend it up!
*NOTE: you don’t have to cook the oats before! It’s fine to eat them raw in your smoothies 🙂 Bonus – 1/2c. oats has 5g of natural protein. Perfect for adding into smoothies after workouts!
Let’s see your pictures! Tag me (@kay_grifff) on instagram and show off your fall smoothie. I love learning new recipes from you guys, too 🙂 If I love your recipe, i’ll feature it on the blog!
Enjoy this day ~ get outside, make some warm tea, and enjoy!
