Creating Bliss In Your Life

Bliss is everywhere, you just have to uncover the blocks you have subconsciously created against it.  This super simple step is one that has added many, many happy moments to my days.  Try doing it at least once a day and watch your bliss grow.  What’s my tip? 🙂

Take 10 slow, deep breaths.  

BUT –  there’s a little more.  You know those moments when everything seems wonderful? Maybe it’s on your walk home when the grass seems a little greener, the sun a little brighter?  Or maybe it’s when you’re sitting in bed alone reading with a cup of tea.  Whenever you feel that a moment is wonderful, or something is beautiful, or something inspires you : STOP! And take 10 slow, deep breaths. 🙂

All you have to do is take this little time out of your day to literally stop and smell the roses.  Whatever it is, really soak it up during that time.  When you’re done, I bet you’ll be on the look out for more “blissful moments.”

Today’s soul in the the spotlight is one my girl, Katie Griffin, certified holistic health coach and full-on soul sister. I love this girl! She radiates love and light, and is just an all-around amazing human being. On her blissful blog and in her everyday life, she aims to help others connect to their inner soul sister. I love the tail-end of her mission statement: “I live and breathe each day from my heart. I believe my purpose on this earth is to spread peace, love, and awareness in any way that I possibly can.” Mmm mmm mmm. Talk about soul sister soup for the soul! 

1.) Where do you find inspiration?

Inspiration is absolutely everywhere. However, for me personally, I find most of my inspiration in books, blogs, yoga, and meditation. I am my most inspired after a long, hard yoga practice or while sitting in meditation. When i’m feeling super inspired, there’s probably a mix of all those going on 🙂

2.) What mantra do you live by?

During my first yoga class, the teacher ended with this:

“May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may my thoughts, words, and actions contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom.”

To this day I continue to pray this multiple times a day. I close my own yoga and meditation practices with this beautiful mantra. It helps to remind me of why we are here: to make this world a more loving place.

3.) How do you define soul session?

My soul session is crucial to keeping a love-filled lifestyle. I begin by lighting a candle (or five!) and locking the door. I bring my favorite inspirational books (right now i’m re-reading “May Cause Miracles” by Gabrielle Bernstein and “The Daily Om” by Madisyn Taylor.) and some soothing meditation music. I start out by praying, reading a passage of a book, and meditating. This is everything I need to return me back to a loving state of mind.

4.) What is one thing that you’re doing right now that scares you?

Being my authentic self. For so long I have hidden my spirituality, yoga practice, and health journey from people in my life for fear of being judged. I was always scared of what people would say and think about me. There’s a quote I love in “The Daily Om” that says: “Living authentically means that you make choices without fear, trusting in your soul’s wisdom.” That is exactly what I’ve chosen to do: Trust in my soul’s wisdom and let my true self show – all parts of it.

5.) Tell us one thing about you that not many people know!

I absolutely LOVE farm animals. Goats, cows, pigs, donkeys, sheep… I love them all. I could spend all day hanging out with them and have the best day ever.
