I’ve often heard it said that love is all around us, we just have to open our minds to see it.
How true is this? We’ve become so close-minded with our definition of “love” to mean only romantic relationships or the love of a close family member. What if we could expand our definition of love, embrace a new concept, and realize we’re already surrounded by the love we’ve been longing for our whole lives?
Too often I hear people complaining of being single. “Oh, i’ll never be loved. No one likes me. I’m just so lonely.”
We’ve got to stop getting in our own way. We have to wake up to all the beautiful love surrounding us! Romantic love is simply one part of the equation, and it’s not necessary for happiness and your completion as a human being.
Love to me is a round of sun salutations to open a yoga class, my first few sips of a morning smoothie, my dog waiting anxiously for me at the door when I come home, and the hugs I get from my mom every day.
Love is the sunshine warm on your skin, and love is the beautiful purple and pink sunset on the car ride home. Love is in every moment: just look around. There’s even love right now as I sit quietly typing in this room alone.
Let’s expand our definition of love. Let’s open our hearts and minds to see that love is truly everywhere.
